We just had a great weekend. On Friday Sarah and I went to our favorite band at Meadow Brook Music Festival over in Rochester. What made it really special was that my parents were keeping the girls over night. So I booked a room at The Royal Park Hotel which is in downtown Rochester. The hotel is awesome and is only 4 miles from Meadow Brook. We wanted to be able to have a good time and drink without having to worry about getting home from the show so we planned on taking a cab to and from the show. When we checked in the informed us that they would have a driver drop us off at Meadow Brook and then arranged for a cab to pick us up. Sweet!

Now onto the Of A Revolution show. The concert was awesome. They played 19 songs including 4 in the encore. The place was sold out and we had a great time. It is pretty fun hanging out with my wife and I am really glad we had some time without the kids. I have to say that Saturday we both felt like crap because we partied a little too hard at the concert. I can’t wait to go again next year. On a side note this morning I saw the Shattered video on VH1, that was strange to see.

Time to update this blog. Summer is moving along pretty quickly and we are all having fun. We bought a new camper and have been getting some good use out of it so far. We have gone on a few trips and the girls love it. This past weekend we went up to Lake Huron Campground and had a great time. I had planned on checking out the Ruby Race this past weekend but stayed home and hung out with Julia all afternoon while Sarah spent all my money shopping. Julia is getting so big that is making me want another little one. Ella starts kindergarten in the fall!

Sarah and I have two little trips planned without the girls. We staying at the Royal Park Hotel this weekend in Rochester and catching a concert at Meadowbrook. In August we are going to Chicago to see Eddie Vedder play a solo show. I can’t wait! Both trips should be fun. It is nice to escape every once in a while without the kids.

Our garden is growing like crazy with all the rain. We have green beans, blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, pumpkins, hot peppers, and some other random vegetables. The yard still needs a lot of work but it is getting done a little bit at a time. The front yard actually looks great but we need to work on the backyard. When you are sitting on 5 acres you have to do a little at a time.

I am going to try and start riding a little more the rest of the summer. I have been so busy working I really let riding fall out of the picture. I may do a couple of races in 2009 to keep me motivated to ride.

The weather stinks right now and it feels like March. We have a long weekend coming up at the perfect time. We need to catch up some yard work. Ella’s soccer team is now 5-1. They lost their first game this past weekend. They still had fun and they learned a lot during the game. Our next game is Tuesday.

It seems we are gearing up for a very fun and very busy summer. At this point we have something planned almost every weekend through the middle of August. We are going camping; Sarah and I are going to a few concerts, and some other fun stuff. It looks like we are getting a 25 foot camper which is way bigger than I want but I have to keep the wife happy. I would prefer a pop-up but she thinks we need a bigger camper so she can give the girls a bath while camping. My big concern is that our vehicle will be a gas hog while towing it and with gas at $4 a gallon it would be cheaper to buy a house up north! I am coaching Ella’s soccer team and that has turned out pretty cool. It takes up a ton of time but it is worth every minute of it. I have been on my bike twice in 2008! That is pretty sad but that at this point I can’t seem to escape to go riding much anymore. Sarah had a birthday yesterday and now she is really old. I can't post her age for fear she will read this and hurt me. We are putting in a garden next weekend. It should be pretty cool to see if we can grow anything edible. We planted a few things last year but it didn’t turn out so well. I will post details for our harvest at the end of summer.

We are picking up the new ride this afternoon. We went with a fully loaded GMC Envoy. A good friend of mine got us a great deal on a 2006. The cherry on top is that GMAC has 3.9% financing on used vehicles right now! Now we just have to put the final touches on picking out our camper and we will be all set for a summer of fun.

Ella has her first soccer game this Saturday at 9:00 am. She is so cute. She wants to kick the ball around everyday which is fine with me. We went for a ride this weekend. It was the whole family and some friends. I think there were 3 Burley Trailers getting pulled on the ride. At one point Julia was fast asleep in the trailer. I wish I had the camera with me at that point.

We are now in searching for a new SUV. I hate shopping for cars. We went from 3 cars to 1 car in less than a week. I had to turn the F-150 because the lease was up and we sold the van on E-Bay last weekend. I didn’t expect to sell the van so quickly. We sold it in two days on E-Bay. We are now searching for a good deal on an Explorer. They are all starting to look the same and I don’t have a lot of time to look. Next month we are buying a new camper and I am already dreading that process. Sarah and I can’t seem to agree on what kind of camper to get this year.

I am coaching Ella’s soccer team. We have our first practice this Saturday. We are both excited and I can’t wait to watch her first game this spring. Julia is now 2 and we had her birthday party this past weekend. I can’t believe she is 2 years old!

What kind of cruel world do we live in? We are supposed to get 3-5 inches of snow tonight! It seems like this winter will never end. I really hope this is the last snowfall. I haven’t been feeling too good the last couple of days. I caught a cold from the girls. Sarah brought the girls to my office today for picnic and that was fun. They love hanging in my office I just wish I could make them work. I have busy day on Friday. I have to be in Flint to meet with a new physician and it is going to be a long meeting. We are completing a submission for a new policy and it could take a couple of hours.

I am coaching Ella’s soccer team this spring/summer and I am really excited about it. We will start looking for a new camper next month. Weather sucks and I can’t wait until spring.

So we have two dogs which in dog math equals 400% more dog poop. I have picked it up a couple of times this winter but it has snowed so much I haven't bothered. With spring coming soon I know I have a big problem on my hands, well I hope not actually on my hands but you get the idea. I estimate that I must have about 400 pounds of dog crap in my yard. I can thank my neighbor’s lab for leaving about 250 pounds of that dog poop. That dog would shit on my face if he could get close enough. Anyway, so this weekend I am going to take a proactive approach and really get out there to clean it up. I'd rather pick up frozen dog terds than wet and mushy piles of pooh-pooh. The good news is that we are less than a month away from the release of Oberon.

The snow missed us for the most part yesterday. It was so windy it is hard to figure out how much snow we actually got. Sarah and I are going to watch American Gangster tonight. I can’t wait to watch it. Everything is moving along with my business right now. I have gained several new clients in the last 3 weeks and March is looking very positive. It is hard when working with physicians because they are always so busy and they are hard to catch.

I went to the Foo Fighters show last night at JLA in D-Town. I have to say it was one of the best shows I have ever been to. I am not a huge Foo Fighters fan but I do like them. Dave Grohl is a true rock star and he is a great front man. The guy has a ton of energy and he really seems to enjoy what he is doing without taking himself too seriously. The show was over 2 hours long and they had a great set list. I can’t wait to see them again.

I guess it has been a while since my last post with any substance. I took Ella to the Daddy & Daughter dance for Valentine’s Day at the Thomas Edison Inn. It was one of those nights that you hope you never forget. She was so excited and she looked so cute dressed up. To my surprise when we got there she wanted to go out and dance. I am really glad I went and I am looking forward to going again next year.

We got a car over the weekend. It is a loaded 2005 Nissan Altima 2.5 SL. It is a pretty awesome little car that should get great gas mileage. I have mixed feeling about turning in my truck. I really love the truck but with high gas prices it is too expensive to own. We should save about $500 per month when you add up the lower car payment, twice the MPG’s, and lower insurance cost. It was a good move. Funny thing is the car payment is only about $70 more per month than the first car I bought back in 1996. I was working at Alpine Cycles at the time and I have already made more money this year than I did the whole year working at Alpine.

Sarah and I are going to have to figure out some exercise program that we can both participate in this year. She wants a treadmill and I just want to have 10 pounds fall off while watching TV. I suggested more time in the “bedroom” but you already know what the answer was on that one.

Our trip to Kalahari last week was fun. We stayed three nights and four days. The kids had a blast and we were all tired after a few days of playing in the water. Kalahari has the largest indoor water park in the country. It is over 200,000 square feet! The place is huge. After a while you forget you are inside because they have a huge glass roof that lets in the warm sun. We are going to try and go back in March.

It looks like Kwame finally got caught. He is going to go on air tonight to beg for forgiveness. He is going to play the religion card and ask for help from his church. The point is he is going to make it about the affair and not about committing perjury. He cost the city of Detroit millions of dollars so he could screw a woman who looks like Scottie Pippen. I hope he goes to prison for lying under oath.

Two Penny Jenny gave her state of the state address last night. WTF is she on crack? She had some good ideas but she stole them from the Republicans. It is too late for that tired old hag. It is too bad she has so much support from the unions but the funny part is she has screwed them over just like everyone else. I like her ideas about alternate fuel but we better get moving or else we will be left behind. The problem with all politicians is too much talk and not enough action.

It looks like it might rain a little! My yard is a giant wet mess right now. I can't wait until spring and we get to do some work on our yard. I am pretty excited because today I made reservations for Rifle River Recreation Area. This is a 4,500 acre recreations area near Rose City, Michigan. I have been going there since I was a little kid. The place is huge. It has some insane mountain biking trails that are pretty much unknown to most mountain bikers. If I remember correctly there is close to 20 miles of trails available in the recreation area. There is a lot to do there and I can’t wait!

This weekend Sarah and I went to the Vintage Tavern. I love that place. I had the Teriyaki Salmon and Bells Two Hearted Ale which is a great combination. The place was pretty busy so I hope that it does well. We have eaten there a few times and it has always been good.

Not much else happened. We watched some movies, drank some wine, and I finished some projects around the house. I made reservations for two nights at Kalahari. This place is awesome! We took the kids last year and we had a lot of fun. Go check it out @ www.kalahariresort.com.

Happy New Year! My family had an awesome 2007 and I think 2008 will be even better for my family. With that being said I am a little worried how the economy will roll this year. Oil crossed the $100 mark and gas will likely hit $4 per gallon or more this spring. On a more positive note I think most of my family and friends will be ok in 2008.

Following are my predications for 2008:

I think we will have a great year for sports. I think the Tigers, Red Wings, and Pistons will all win Championships in 2008. There will be a major celebrity death in 2008, either Britney Spears or Lindsay Lohan. Mrs. Clinton will be elected president. I will gain 15 pounds. Adumb and Toby Napalm will have their first kiss. Drew will start his own water company and become a millionaire. Sarah will leave me for Nuchie. Well, that is about it for predications. One of these is bound to happen, I just wonder which one……..

We had another great Christmas this year. The girls had a ton of fun. We didn’t go crazy with the toys. What can you get kids that have everything? I think next year we will be a little more creative and get them something different.

We are finally getting some use out of the basement. We moved some toys and a TV down there so the girls can hang out. Ella can also drive the Hummer that Santa brought her in the basement. Is it spring yet?

It is now official. Deminski and Doyle are done at 97.1 FM. I am really pissed that CBS pulled them off their air before they could say goodbye to their fans. I think that is a big loss for Detroit radio since this was a very popular show and one of my favorites. I have to admit that the show was lame some of the time but after listening to them for over 7 years it kind of grows on you. I hope they stick around until the non-compete is over because I’m sure another station will pick them up.

I will give everyone a quick update on the last few months since I destroyed my other blog. I wanted to get rid of it because I used my full name in the URL and since I started my own business I wanted to have a blog that was a little more anonymous so I could post without worrying about what other people think. So I started my own business in mid September and things couldn’t be going better. After a lot of hard work I have things up and running. I have my first few accounts and 2008 will be a great year. That is really all I am going to post about it for now. I have not been riding my bike and I don’t think I will have a lot of time to ride next year. Family first, business second and fuck everything else! I know that seems pretty shallow, lame or whatever but that is how it is going to be from now on. The truth of the matter it looks like I will be spending a lot of time working with the county on developing a new trail for St. Clair County. I will gladly give up my riding time this summer to help build a trail that everyone can use for the next 100 years.

I am looking forward to a little Christmas break and having fun with the girls. My kids are spoiled and are really lucky, just like I was as a kid. Sarah and I bought a whole bunch of stuff for a little girl through the Salvation Army so she could have a nice Christmas.

We got a really weird Christmas letter from one of Sarah’s friends. I think this woman was piss drunk when she wrote the Christmas letter because it was so funny. I couldn’t stop laughing because I thought it was fake but I guess it was a real letter. I will post it up later this week.
